Current Research Projects

On this page, you will find an overview of our current and future research projects at the Chair of Adaptive Autonomy and Off-Road Robotics. Our projects cover a broad spectrum, ranging from safe human-robot collaboration to intelligent swarm technologies. Click on the individual projects to learn more about their motivation, research goals, and the technologies used.

IMARO

Development of vendor-neutral middleware that connects autonomous robots of various designs on an ad hoc basis to form a cooperative swarm.

TEACH-R

Use of real robots in teaching to develop innovative instructional formats.

Scout

An adaptive, situation-aware safety system for mobile robots that responds dynamically to its environment—demonstrated on the four-legged robot platform Scout (Unitree Go2).

AI-SafeHumanRobot

Development of an AI-based safety system and certification process to ensure the functionally safe movement and behavior of humanoid robots when working alongside humans.
